RINK RATS
My kids have this problem with applying the drills we do in practice in game situations. In practice they run the drills perfectly but when it comes time to apply them they revert back to the rink rat hockey that they should have stopped playing when they were, o... I don't know FIVE!!! I can not wait for our first tournament so they can see what they should be doing.

I must be getting old
I have discovered that I no longer have the stamina that I once had in high school. The coach of the second JV team and I decided to combine our practices. We work on drills and endurance training on Tuesday and on Wednesday we scrimmage. Since all of us coaches are so young we are very active in the practices, practicing along side the kids demonstrating what we want them to do. Today my shoulders ache, my legs are on fire and my ankles are weak. I feel like I'm now that "old guy". Now I have not lost my skillz, I can still play the game. I just Hope it doesn't get to the point where I have to use my hockey stick as a cane.

We all should love the children.
I am coaching my old high schools roller hockey team and so far they are exceeding my expectations. I have found that high school boys are a lot easier to control when high school girls are not around. Aside from that they are progressing well. Teaching the kids... or should i say "young adults" to play hockey is a good way for me to get experience with that age group because that is the age group that i want to teach when it finally comes time to start my after college life.

Welcome
Hello,
My name is James and this is my blog. I am a student at Lindenwood University working toward my certification to become a history teacher. History is a very exciting field for me. My favorite topic in history is technological achievements that come from war.
When im not stuffing my head into a history book I like to play hockey, play my drums, take pictures, hang with friends and just have fun. Balancing work and play can be trying, but it is worth it.
